IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosalia
Sciarabba
November 9, 1934 – February 18, 2023
Rosalia Sciarabba, of Clermont, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2023.
She was born November 9, 1934, in Palermo, Italy, a daughter of the late Francesco and Caterina Alioto.
Rosalia was preceded in death by her son of 19 years, Charles, and her sister Paola Tarantino.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a Master Seamstress, beginning her career in her home country and bringing her skills to New York City's Garment District in the 1960s. She kept her passion for this trade throughout her life. She also had a love for cooking all things Italian, and could be found preparing family meals at any given hour. If she wasn't in the kitchen cooking her signature Sicilian pizza, she could be found spending quality time with her many wonderful friends and her loving family.
Rosalia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Peter. They spent their early years in Brooklyn, NY, marrying in 1962, and relocating to Commack, NY in 1969. In 1990, they relocated to Central Florida, finally settling in Kingsridge in Clermont, where they have resided for the past 23 years, and have enjoyed their time as active members of the community.
Rosalia is also survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, AnnaLisa Rasmussen (Michael) of Oviedo, and Catherine Dow (Richard) of Clermont; six grandchildren, Michael (Elizabeth), Stephanie, Danielle (Alex), James, Charles, and Frank; one great-grandchild Giuliana; two brothers, Gino Alioto and Benito Alioto, and one sister, Enza Molone; and one sister-in-law, Rosina Meringolo. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will greatly miss her.
