Ronald Eugene Linder, best known as Gene Linder, 68 of Gotha, Florida, was called home on November 11, 2023. Gene was a beloved husband, father (Daddie), grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, & friend. He was born on June 29, 1955.

Gene was a huge sports fan. He played baseball throughout his childhood and teenage years, and coached all of his kids' various sports teams including his grandson's teams. You could often times hear him passionately refereeing football and other sports games through the TV from his recliner. His favorite teams in recent years were the Kansas City Chiefs and Florida Gators. Gene grew up working on cars and building homes but eventually went into the family business as a residential contractor, owning his own business for over 40 years. He built countless homes in Indiana, the Florida Panhandle, and in Central Florida. He was even part of the restoration of Miami after Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Gene was very good with his hands being able to fix just about anything. He rebuilt engines, restored old cars, and also built many pieces of beautiful furniture. Gene was loved by everyone who had an opportunity to know him. He was extremely generous with his time, talents, and treasures as he never skipped an opportunity to help any and everyone; a true example of being the hands and feet of Christ. He was always smiling and known to crack a joke any chance he got. He was the best deliverer of dad jokes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie & Charlotte Moore of Panama City Beach, FL, and George "Ronnie" Ronald Linder of Clarksville, IN; son, Michael Eugene Linder of Gotha, FL; sister, Lanora Linder of New Albany, IN. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 40 years, Sheree Moore Linder of Gotha, FL; children: daughters, Angel (John) Hughey of New Palestine, IN, Terena Robinson of Salem, IN, Michelle Linder (Patrick Brown) of Orlando, FL & Danielle (Alex) Guzmán of Gotha, FL; sons, Tony Robinson of Corydon, IN, Derrick Linder of Gotha, FL, Morgan Linder of Gotha, FL, & Tristan Linder of Gotha, FL; 17 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; step-mother, Mary Linder; sister Teresa Cox of Florida; brothers, Lonnie Moore of California, Tony Moore of Florida, Lee Moore of Indiana, & James Linder of Indiana.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday February 10, 2024 at 11:00am at The Church of South Lake.
