Obituary

Ronald Paul Denault Sr., beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Orlando, Florida, on Monday, March 13, 2022. He was 77 years old. Ronald was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, October 5,1945 to Paul and Lillian (Larochelle) Denault. He attended Pentucket Regional High School, where he served as captain of the basketball team and led them to several victories. He joined the United States Air Force in 1964 and achieved the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1968. During his service, he met Marie Giamo, whom he married on June 1, 1968, at Immaculate Conception Church in Westerly, RI. They spent much of their life raising their children in Pawcatuck, CT, and were active members of St. Michael's Church for many years. After his military service, Ron worked in construction at Millstone Power Plant in Waterford, Connecticut, before co-founding MicLynn Construction in 1986 with his brother-in-law, Walter Sheldon of Pawcatuck. He took great pride in his work and always made sure that every house he built was of the highest quality. In 1997, he and Marie moved to Florida, where he worked for SunTrust Bank and later Publix Supermarket in Clermont until his retirement in 2010. Ron was an avid sports fan, especially of the New England sports teams, including the Celtics, Red Sox, and Patriots. He coached both his children at the Pawcatuck Little League in baseball and softball. He also enjoyed playing and watching golf, traveling and was an exceptional cribbage player. Ronald is survived by his children, Michele Seibel and her husband Michael, and his son Ron Denault Jr., all of Orlando, Florida. He was the beloved grandfather of Madison Lange of New York City. He is also survived by his brother Norman Denault and sisters Diane Puglisi, Paula Smith, and Denise Smith of Merrimac, Massachusetts, and his sister-in-law Gail Sheldon of Pawcatuck, CT. He will be deeply missed.
