IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ron
Rash
October 24, 1945 – June 6, 2024
Lester Ronald Rash, known affectionately to friends and family as Ron, passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 24, 1945, in Burbank, California, Ron's journey came to a peaceful end in Clermont, Florida, where he was surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. A heart attack claimed his life, but Ron's indomitable spirit and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to resonate with all who knew him.
Ron's life was one of service and dedication. After honorably serving his country in the Army, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a civil servant. He retired from Customs and Border Protections in 2008, leaving behind a trail of respect and admiration from colleagues and the many lives he touched through his work. Ron's passion for his country was matched only by the love he had for his family, who stood as the cornerstone of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Rash, who was his partner in life's journey for 41 years. Together, they survived everything life threw at them. Ron's brother, Greg Rash, will cherish the memory of their brotherly bond. Joan Lott, his caring mother-in-law, along with his sister-in-law, April Ruiz, and brother-in-law, Mark Ruiz, will remember Ron for his unwavering kindness, generous heart, and goofiness. He was a cherished uncle to his nephews, Zac, Max, and Leo Ruiz, each of whom will hold onto the many, many, many, stories he imparted. Ron's light will shine brightly in the life of his adopted granddaughter, Mymori Walters, as she continues to grow, embracing the values and love he instilled in her.
Ron found solace and joy in his love of animals, especially his kitties, Punky, Misty, Goldie, Sabrina, Domino, Victoria, and his little buddy Snoopy. Every night, Snoopy would jump up next to Ron and settle down to go to sleep with Ron's arm around him. Ron also had a passion for horses. Horseback riding brought him great joy and comfort, which spoke to his appreciation for nature's beauty and the bonds between man and animal. In his later years, he enjoyed the camaraderie found at the shooting range with his friends from the Second Amendment Club.
Ron's absence will be felt deeply by those who knew him, yet the memories he created will serve as a comforting reminder of the time that we shared with him. His goofiness, his fondness for joking, and his bigger-than-life personality will be missed but never forgotten.
Ron's journey has taught us the importance of service, the strength of family bonds, and the joy of pursuing our passions with heart and determination. Please join us as we celebrate his life and honor his memory. The funeral will be held on June 29, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont.
