ROGER EDWARD SNOW

January 24th, 1953 – August 14th, 2024

Roger Snow, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 3:08 p.m. at Orlando Health –South Lake Hospital, Clermont, Florida, surrounded by his closest loved ones.

He was born January 24th, 1953, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of the late Earl and Bessie (Dunaway) Snow. He was also predeceased by one brother, Earl (Butch) Snow, and a sister Sylvia (Cookie) Snow.

Roger was married to his wife, Deborah (Curtis) Snow on September 30th, 1994, who survives along with three children, Gregory B. Snow of Roscoe, IL, Jennifer J. Snow of St. Augustine, and Amie N. Sharpe of Clermont; and three grandchildren, Ashlynn Purdy, Ivy Snow, and Preston Snow. He is also survived by a sister-n-law, Kathy Snow of Beloit, WI.

Roger grew up in South Beloit, Illinois, attending South Beloit High School where he played on the football team, he graduated in 1971. He then attended Rock Valley Community College for two years and obtained a Metallurgy Degree. Roger moved to Florida in 1983 because of a job offer with GHA Lockjoint in Lacoochee. He worked there until 1986 when he moved to Clermont, and accepted a job with Westinghouse Power Generation in Casselberry, which later was acquired by Siemen's Corporation. He worked a total of 33 years with Westinghouse and Siemen's Corporation, his final title was Senior Technical Outsourcing and Logistics Specialist, retiring in September 2018.

Roger adopted Florida State Seminoles as his college football team when he moved to Florida, and remained an avid fan, attending games in Tallahassee. Roger was also a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, and an avid auto racing fan. He collected baseball caps from his favorite teams. Roger was a talented writer of eulogies for family and poetry. He is a member of Living Hope Church, Clermont, formerly First United Methodist Church. He served on the Trustee Committee and was involved with the Youth Group's annual Youth Force Clermont repairing and clean-up in the community. Roger loved all the cats he and Deborah had over the years, currently Nikka and Rascal.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, 3pm at Becker Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 1pm until 3pm at the funeral home.  Following the service, the family invites everyone to go to Clermont Brewing Company for a reception.  Clermont Brewing Company is located at 750 W Desoto St, Clermont, FL 34711.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you make memorial donations to South Lake Animal League in Clermont (no-kill animal shelter), and Alzheimer's Association .
