My best friend, beloved husband and devoted, loving Dad and Pawpaw passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, February 9,2021. (Not Covid)
Rodney Dale was born March 11, 1953 in Charleston, WV. His parents Bill and Anna Kathleen preceded Rod in death.
Rod is survived by his wife, Linda of Clermont; their son, Brad and his wife Tracy and twin grandchildren Tyler and Caleigh of Orlando.
He is also survived by 2 brothers: Jerry (Sherry)
McDougal of Chandler, AZ Bill McDougal of Chandler, AZ; his neice Courtney (Dan) Walker and their 2 children, Asher and London of San Mateo, CA as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who all loved him dearly and Rod loved them.
Rod and Linda were married 44 years. Rod pursued his love for helping people in various positions. Rod was a Paramedic in Miami, Fl and Lynchburg, Va; enlisted in the Marines, Police Officer in Lake Worth, Fl and Daytona Beach, Fl. In 1984 they moved to Chandler, Az where he was a contracted guard for the US Marshals. Rod suffered many relapses with Crohn's disease, eventually leading him to an early retirement.
Rod loved spending time with his family and doing vacations together. He loved football and even flew to San Francisco with his son, Brad, to watch a game! Rod and Brad shared the love of riding motorcycles together. Rod and Linda were members of the Christian Motorcyclist Association . They took many rides throughout the country.
