Roddy Gilbert Chacon, 62, Clermont, passed away February 27, 2012 at South Lake Hospital. He was born November 13, 1949 in Monte Vista, CO son of Antonio & Nicanora Ruybal Chacon. He retired from the US Marines as a First Sergeant having served during the Vietnam Conflict & Desert Storm. On February 15, 1982 he was united in marriage to Laura Hales in Jacksonville, NC. He was a local resident since October 2011 from Colorado and attended Open Door Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife Laura Chacon of the residence; children Roddy Chacon, Jr. & wife Toni of Del Norte, CO; Kimberly Hensley & husband Greg, Alamosa, CO & Maria Acosta & husband Manuel, Denver, CO; step-daughter Vickie Smith & husband Mike, Greenville, NC; step-son Kevin Parker, Sneads Ferry, NC; grandchildren Donovan & Savannah Archuleta; Torince Hensley; Lanae & Jennifer Chacon; Antonio & Garbiella Acosta; Christopher Midgett; Katie Jones & Eric Parker; great-grandchildren Techoa Archuleta; Ayden Stacy & Julianna Jones. .



The funeral service for Roddy Chacon will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Open Door Baptist Church. Reverend Bruce Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the funeral home.
