Robert Neil Richards

June 22, 1950 - January 28, 2023

Robert "Bob" Neil Richards, 72, of Minneola, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 28th, 2023. Bob was born on June 22, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Dorothy Richards. He served in the Air National Guard for six years and was trained in radio mechanics. While in the service, he visited Emmanuel Baptist Church in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he gave his life to Christ. After the service, he worked at Procter & Gamble for 10 years in the electronics & design engineering group.

Bob fell in love with Debbie at first sight.  He sat across from her at a Campus Crusade meeting at the University of Cincinnati.  They were married on April 5, 1975 and had four daughters. Bob was passionate about studying scripture and training his children (and later grandchildren) in the ways of the Lord. In 1983, they moved their family to Nairobi, Kenya where they served the Lord for close to 6 years.  In 1989, they came to the AIM Retirement Center where Bob faithfully served as the Superintendent for 28 years.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Debbie, and his loving family Heather (Craig) Fairweather, Amy (Dave) Carroll, Lisa (Jeremy) Presley, and Julie (Eamon) McCaffrey.  He was a devoted grandfather to 13 grandchildren: Micah, Selah, Cai, Shiloh, and Moriah Fairweather; Aiden, Drew, Dax, and Briggs Carroll; Jackson, Ryan, and Reagan Presley; and Miles McCaffrey.  He was also survived by his mother-in-law June Lowery, his siblings Bill (Sandy) Richards, Jeanne (Richard) McDaniel Manriquez, and Jim (Diane) Richards, and his siblings-in-law: Jim Stock, Carol (Scott) Anderson, and Vicki Lowery, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bob & Audie Richards, his sister Sue Stock, his father-in-law Bob Lowery, his brothers-in-law Jeff Lowery and Tom McDaniel, and his nephew Danny Stock.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10th at 2pm at the AIM Retirement Center, 1000 Media Road, Minneola, FL 34715 in the Manor.  Visitation and light refreshments will immediately follow the service.
