Robert L. (Bob) Metzgar, 78, of Minneola, died Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

A native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, he served his country as a Marine, was a former officer at San Quentin State Prison in California, a former detective with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Tampa, and was a polygraph examiner and private detective for his company, Robert L. Metzgar and Associates.

Robert is survived by his wife, Edythe; two daughters, Jennifer Deak and Gretchen Metzgar, both of Tampa; four grandchildren, Morgan, Jenna, Lily, and Luke; two great grandsons; one brother, Herbert Metzgar, of Brandon; a half brother, Kim, of Duncansville, PA; and a stepson Paul Meckes.

Robert was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Greg and Garry; and one sister, Pat Burkett.
