Loudon
February 18, 1943 – March 16, 2024
Robert "Bob" Loudon, 81, of Groveland, Florida passed away peacefully on
March 16, 2024 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bob was born on February 18, 1943 to Eben and Dorothy (Streeter) Loudon in
Kearney, New Jersey. He graduated from Union High School in 1961 and went on to
study at Lehigh University. He graduated in 1965 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
Bob then continued his education, receiving his New Jersey Professional Engineering
license. In 1967 he married Christine "Chris" Reynolds. They had two children, Suzanne
and Brian. Bob spent 60 years working as an engineer in the environmental field. He
was employed by Envirogen over the past 30 years where he was a Senior Mechanical
Engineer and a valued colleague as well as a mentor to many.
Bob was a resident of New Jersey until 2009 when he moved to Lebanon, Ohio.
In 2017, he relocated to Groveland, Florida. He was an active community member in the
places where he resided, sitting on homeowners associations. He was a soccer coach
and scout leader. He attended many horse shows and helped care for dozens of horses
to support his wife and daughter. In his spare time, Bob was a British sports car
enthusiast. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed history and traveling. He
was constantly interested in learning. His knowledge was always used to fix something,
solve problems, and help others.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Chris; his daughter Suzanne
Loudon and her husband Ken Knudsen of New Jersey; his son Brian and his wife
Stacey of Florida; five grandchildren- Evan and Taylor Knudsen, Hailey and Joanna
Loudon, and Padraig Dougherty; as well as several nephews and a niece.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Eben and Dorothy Loudon, and his brother
William Loudon
.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 4PM at Becker
Funeral Home, 806 West Minneola Avenue, Clermont, Florida 34711. The family asks
that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Robert Loudon's name to the Moffitt Cancer
Center at
