Robert Scott Klinger, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012 after suffering a heart attack. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Bonne, his sister Laura, her husband Kurt and daughter Carly, his two sons Matthew and Michael and their wives Michelle and Jamie, and his two grandsons Andrew and Ryan. Scott was born on January 26, 1942 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and attended Franklin and Marshall College, where he played quarterback on the football team. Scott devoted his career to public education in suburban Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, first as a teacher and coach of both football and volleyball, then as an administrator working to ensure teachers received the needed resources to educate children throughout the school district. In 1976, he was enshrined in the Pennsylvania High School Sports Hall of Fame for his many coaching accomplishments and later in his career he served as the President of the Exchange Club in suburban Philadelphia. An avid sports fan and devoted father, Scott frequented middle and high school sporting venues throughout the region keeping a watchful eye on his sons'' athletic competitions. He retired in 2001 and moved to Clermont, Florida to enjoy his sporting passions - golfing three times a week and watching college and pro football. He and his wife Bonne regularly cruised around the Caribbean islands and enjoyed exploring local restaurants with family and friends. Scott will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, calming presence, and his loving demeanor.



Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (720 12th St.) in Clermont FL at 12:00 PM on Friday September 7, 2012 followed by a memorial gathering in the church hall.
