Obituary

Robert "Bob" Fulton Johnston, 34, of Clermont, FL, died as the result of a motor vehicle crash on October 5, 2018 in Osceola County, Florida. Bob had recently celebrated his birthday with his mother, Bette Johnston Kilduff, and brother, Brian Johnston, with a trip to Walt Disney World Resorts, where Bob had worked as a cast member since 2009. He was recently promoted at work to Platform Engineer for Point of Sale Systems, his dream job after many years in information technology. Bob was born in Hartford, CT, on September 22, 1984, the son of Bette and Robert William Johnston, and spent most of his childhood in Granby, CT. He moved with his family to a farm in upstate NY in 1998, and graduated from Granville Junior/Senior High School in Granville, NY in 2003. Bob took special interest from a young age in all things technical and technological. Armed with trivia from cooking shows, home improvement guides, technical manuals, and more, Bob could tell you something about everything, whether it was deep-frying a turkey or landing a Boeing 747. Bob graduated from Castleton University in Castleton, VT with Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science, and at the time of his death, Bob was working towards a Master's Degree in Computer Science. He traveled often to the Homosassa River, where he enjoyed sitting on the deck above the water and spending time with his family. He had recently started planning a January vacation to St. Augustine. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert William Johnston, and his stepfather, Gerald Thomas Kilduff; and survived by his mother, Bette Johnston Kilduff; his siblings, Brian Johnston of St. Pete, FL, Benjamin Kilduff of Reno, NV, Emily Kilduff of Cleveland, OH, Thomas Kilduff, Jessica Ford, Melissa Hoyt, Kathleen Bean, and Gerri-Ann Garrelick; fourteen nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and great-nephews; and many extended family members who are mourning his loss.

Bob's family will host a celebration of his life on Sunday, October 14th from 12 - 4 PM EST at The Waterfront Hotel, 1105 Lake Shore Dr., The Villages, FL 32162.
