Obituary

Robert "Bob" Arthur Crispin, 79, died after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family on October 1, 2013 in Lake County, Florida. Bob was born on October 27, 1933 in Newark, New Jersey to May (Bender) and Warren Crispin. He graduated from South Side High School in Newark, NJ. Bob married his best, Phyllis Anne (Frazer) Crispin on October 12, 1957. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Panama and served from 1954-1956. He was also in the United States Reserves for six years. Bob is a member of the American Legion. Bob was born and raised in Newark, and lived in Monmouth County for 40 years before retiring to Lake County, Florida. He drove a tractor trailer for 31 years for General Electric in Newark, NJ before the plant closed. He then drove a tractor trailer for 13 years for United Parcel Service before retiring. He was a member of the Local Teamsters Union #177. In his spare time Bob enjoyed watching sports; especially the Yankees. He also liked to go fishing. He enjoyed his time at the Jersey shore with his family on his boat. Bob is remembered for his deep sense of compassion for others. He was always the first one to step up to help someone on need, offer good advice and make people laugh. His deep commitment and love for his wife has been a cherished gift over the years. Bob was predeceased by his parents and brother, Richard. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Phyllis; sons, Robert and Kevin; daughter-in-law, Kim (Houston) and grandson, Leo Crispin, all of Florida. Bob was a special uncle to Marianne (DeFronzo) Fecanin and her husband, Dan. He was an extraordinary grandfather to Anne-Marie and Angelina Fecanin, in the absence of their own grandfathers. He will be greatly missed by all who love him.



The funeral service for Mr. Crispin will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 in the Becker Chapel. Chaplain Lance Travis will officiate. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. BECKER FUNERAL HOME, 806 W. Minneola Ave., Clermont, FL 34711.
