Robert Richard Besix, age 60, of Clermont, Fl., passed away on March 8th, 2022.
Bob was born on December 1st, 1961 in Spring Valley, Illinois. Bob graduated high school in 1979 at La Moille high school in La Moille, Illinois.
Bob started working in the food service industry at the age of 18. He started with Ralston Purina by sweeping floors and working his way up to VP of sales and marketing with Monterey Mushrooms, then to Country Fresh Mushrooms, and finally to Giorgio Fresh Co. Bob was a very hard-working man, known for his strong work ethics, as it was very important to him to provide for his family.
Bob loved NFL football, he was a diehard Dolphins fan even after Dan Marino and Don Shula were gone! For many years he coached and refereed basketball for Lake County Hoops in Clermont, FL. He was one hell of a coach, well respected even when he was riding the kids butts!
He was also an avid bass fisherman, both recreationally and even competed in tournaments in his younger days. He loved other outdoor activities, which included pool time every weekend, lounging on the patio with good music, and camping trips with the kiddos,wife, and friends. Bob enjoyed spending time tending to the lawn and in his final months, he became a self-taught horticulturist caring for his flower collection throughout the patio and yard.
He had a great love for cooking, especially for smoking and grilling on his several Big Green Eggs, known for his pizzas, briskets, wings, and pulled pork. He was also a cigar and wine connoisseur, often enjoying with close friends and family.
His fur babies Kira, Sarah, and Gabrielle were like his children. They are still walking around wondering when their dad is coming home
Bob was so loved and treasured by everyone that knew him and will be so dearly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife Lisa, daughter Laura, son Chase, sister Susie Dolan, and brother Larry Cromwell. Bob is also fondly remembered by his nephew Chad Holloway, nieces Kim Ferguson, Jackie Cromwell, Janelle Landingham, Dawn Jones, great niece Makenzie Kessel and great nephews Jake Holloway and Connor Holloway. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Carol"Jean" Savage. His brother Marvin Besix, and sons Adam Besix and Michael Besix.
Bob was a one of a kind man who will be missed by many.
