Rita Carol Luke, 60, went to be with her Lord Jesus after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday, February 11, 2022 surrounded by he r loved ones .  She is survived by her husband of 37 years, William T. Luke Jr ; sisters, Donna Andress, Ginny Lysinger, and Teresa Smith; son, Ben Mullen (Autumn); daughters, Danielle Habermehl and Dawn Anderson (Flint); grandchildren, Wesley, Philip Jr., Kaylee, Tristan, Charley, Blake, Logan, and Lyric (their beloved "Munka"). Other integral members of her surviving family are her nieces and her nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann Smith.

Rita was born on April 3, 1961 in Titusville, FL, the third of four girls.  She graduated from Boone High School in Orlando, Florida in 1979.  She met her husband, William T. Luke Jr, while working for the Orlando Sentinel.  They were married in 1984. A fun-loving, kind, sweet, devoted woman of God; Rita was always prepared to share the Word of God with others or drop everything to go help someone in need. She was rarely seen without a smile on her face or a grandchild in her arms. She never turned down an invitation for fun. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards and games, roller-skating, and bowling and had a love for adventure without boundaries.  We will carry her memory in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, February 22 at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W Minneola Ave, Clermont, FL 34711. A graveside service will follow at 12:30pm at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. The family will receive friends following the graveside services at Emerald Lakes Co-Op, Inc. 1401 FL-50, Clermont, FL 34711.
