IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Ervin
Stewart
August 28, 1971 – August 24, 2021
Richard Ervin Stewart (Rick, Ricky) was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 28, 1971 to Richard Lee Stewart and Judy Ellen Pittman. He passed away Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the age of 49. He attended Arlington High School (Indianapolis, IN), where he was a member of the Army JROTC and Lutheran High School (Indianapolis, IN), where played saxophone as a member of the pep-band. He continued his education at Lincoln Tech where he earned his training and certificate in Automotive and Diesel Mechanics. As an adult, Rick relocated to Central Florida, where he came to call home and became a member of Real Life Christian Church in Clermont, FL. It was at Real Life that Rick connected with a community of people who he considered not just friends, but family.
Rick had a ten-year career as a certified HVAC contractor in Florida and as a business owner in the same industry. Additionally, he was not only a mechanic by trade, but it was also a life-long hobby and passion of his that was nurtured from a very young age by close family and friends. He was very proud of the many projects cars that he rebuilt and restored throughout the years. The end goal for every car was for it to be beautiful, fast, and loud. He would regularly anticipate driving out to Old Town with his family to showcase his many classic hot-rods, each visit including the weekly Saturday Night Cruise down Main Street, with the car loaded up with family and friends. In his down-time, Rick enjoyed spending time with his family, whether that be going to listen to local music, enjoying the lake, camping, hunting in Georgia, or at the nearby drag-strip or circle track. He recently had the pleasure of introducing his youngest children to Harley-Davidson and taking them on motorcycle rides. He had a natural musical ability, with training on the saxophone, a love for playing the guitar which was self-taught with direction from his Mother, Judy, and a beautiful, deep singing voice that those closest to him were so fortunate to hear from time to time. Rick lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms. He worked extremely hard and he thoroughly enjoyed all of the adventures that his down time would bring. Being in his presence came with the guarantee that it was going to be full of fun, laughter, and reminiscing.
Rick was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Ervin Bohall; Grandmother Mary Ellen Bohall; Father Richard Lee Stewart, and Brother, Jesse Pittman. Rick always spoke very highly of, and had an immeasurable amount of respect and love for his maternal grandparents, Ervin and Mary Ellen Bohall. There is a comfort found in knowing that they, amongst others, were there to welcome him Home.
Left to cherish Ricks memory are his Wife, Christine Stewart (Howey in the Hills, FL); Children Emily Stewart, Austin Stewart, Madison Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Rylin Stewart, Gabriel Stewart and Kasyde Stewart; Mother, Judy Ellen Pittman; Sisters, Barbara Dawn Pittman (Max) and Windy Stewart and Brother Dewayne Pittman (Robin); Grandchildren Raegan Stewart and Jameson Kight; Nephew Zachary Graat and Niece Elleanna Pittman, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Rick's honor to the Real Life Christian Academy's athletic department.
