Richard Anthony Owen, 80, Clermont, FL passed away August 31, 2011 at the Mike Conley Hospice House. He was born September 30, 1930 in Jackson, MI son of Guy & Sophia Owen and was a central Florida resident since 1969. On July 16, 1984 he was united in marriage to Sharon Shields. He retired after 23 years of employment from Walt Disney World where he worked as a painter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Rochelle Owen and by his 4 siblings; William Owen , Gloria Owen, Guy Owen and Janet Owen. Surviving is his wife Sharon; daughters Toni Turner & Denise Owen both of Jackson; step-daughters Krystal Mietelka also of Jackson; Tracey Seitz, Orlando & Theresa Sullivan, Clermont; 7 grandchildren 2 great-grandchildren. He was a hard working man who some would describe as 10 foot tall and bullet proof. He made a hobby of fixing cars and small engines but his first love was Nascar. At the top of his winner board were Jeff Gordon #24 and Jimmy Johnson #48. In earlier years he was often considered the Jitterbug king of the dance floor. He was a devoted family man who will be lovingly missed by all.
