Obituary

Rebecca Ann McEachin, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on June 22, 1939 and passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Clermont, FL. Rebecca was raised on Baltic Street in Brooklyn, and was a studious and compassionate girl. She completed her LPN at the Clara Barton High School for Health Professionals (formerly known as the Brooklyn High School for Homemaking). Rebecca cared for others in labor and delivery, nursery, and then later the geriatric population with her LPN, before returning to college to get her associate's degree in nursing and becoming an RN. Unfortunately, illness prevented her from continuing her nursing career, and she retired after 36 years in the healthcare field.

Rebecca had four children, and met and married Stanley McEachin in the Bronx, N.Y. They moved to Queens Village, N.Y., where she raised her children. For years she dreamed of retiring to a bright sunny climate, leaving the cold and snow of N.Y. behind. In 1999, the heat and palm trees of Florida were calling, and she relocated to retire in Clermont, FL. Rebecca was the eldest child of Herbert C. Williams, and Etheline Morris. As the "matriarch of the family" she loved to send cards and gifts all over the United States to varying generations of family members, carrying on the legacy of her Grandmother Elizabeth (Nana) Morris, and Mother Etheline.

Coming to salvation in her late 30's, Rebecca had a spirit of evangelism, in which she gave out tracts in Jamaica bus station and talked to people about the Lord. She continued to give out tracts at supermarkets, doctors offices and in restaurants everywhere we went. She especially enjoyed serving at the door of the Lord's house. As long as she was able, she served as an usher in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, N.Y. (20+ years) and as a greeter at Family Christian Center, FL (10 yrs?). She only slowed down with age but remained connected to her congregation through the online services, and prayer. If Rebecca knew you, she was praying for you! She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and having impeccable makeup.

Rebecca was pre-deceased by her son Stanley III, and her sister Marion. Her memory will be cherished by her children Gregory, Phillip, and Diedre. Her siblings Shirley, Herbert, and Robert. Grandchildren: Jaheim, Olivia, Oliver, and Aria. Nephews/Nieces: Anthony, Patrick, Lisa, Isabella, Terry, Robert Jr., Marion, Shawn, and a host of other extended family and friends. It is her wish to be cremated and find her final resting place at the Florida National Cemetery.
