RAYMOND WILLIAM COX (AGE 94)
1-22-23 TO 3-2-17
Ray was born in Watervliet, New York, and passed into our Lord's Loving arms in Groveland, Florida. Our Adored and Darling Mother Arlene preceeded him in death on December 9, 1976. Ray was also preceeded in death by his three brothers Harry, Arthur, and John, and one sister Dorothy.
He leaves behind his two sons Ronald and Gregory, his two daughters-in-law Rowena and Cathy, his four grandchildren James, Thomas, Karen and Lori, as well as his seven great-grandchildren Skyler, Jayden, Kaydi, Cameron, Collin, Kiaus and Chloe.
He also leaves behind an amazing cousin, Eileen, a special brother-in-law, Lloyd, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him.
Ray was a Naval Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. Injuries in Korea prematurely ended his naval career; however, as a Electrical Engineer, he then taught at Iowa State, worked for the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. as head Electrical Engineer, where he developed patents that related to the aerospace industry
Ray so loved the mountains and rivers in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. In particular, Woodstock, Virginia. He had his choice of being interred at Arlington National Cemetery, or being buried at Sea; however, his final wish was for his ashes to be scattered in his beloved Shenandoah Valley.
Our Family has Faith, and we now picture Dad with a Huge smile, either fishing the Shenandoah river, or on Passage Creek....or riding a horse in the mountains and valleys with one of his beloved dogs following behind. Dad is released from the pain of his failing body. He is free and now singing (and playing piano) with the Angels now
May he Rest In Peace
