Obituary
Raymond Anthony Burroughs passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family on Tuesday, March 6
th
, 2018 at the age of 61. Raymond was born to the late Mary and Raymond J Burroughs on December 6
th
, 1956 in Trenton, New Jersey. Raymond married and raised his children in New Jersey, working primarily for the Department of Transportation. In June of 2006, after 26 years of service, Raymond retired from the state and relocated with his family to Davenport, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Michele Burroughs; his three children, Lisa, Joseph and Andrew; their spouses, Darren & Christina. Also, survived by his brother Thomas Burroughs and family, as well as extended family. Raymond also treasured his time with, and will be dearly missed by his grandson Wesley Wallace Yeager. Wesley's words were the last that Raymond heard before he departed this Earth with his final breath.
Well loved by all he met, Raymond was known as a jack of all trades, prankster, avid collector and artist. While he worked many jobs to support his family, Raymond worked tirelessly to ensure that his family and friends were always taken care of. Anytime someone was in need, whether it be car trouble, home maintenance, personal security, or just a little work on Christmas decorations, Raymond was there. Raymond served as a Loyal Knight to the Bordentown Elks as well as a Scout Leader to the Hamilton Boy Scouts. Raymond was a man of many stories, many of those tales frequently lit up the room with laughter. May the tales continue up above, and the laughter spread down to all those who remember him.
