Raymie Hershall Layman, 88, Davenport, passed away July 13, 2014 at Osceola Health Care Center in St. Cloud. He was born September 16, 1925 in Tekamah, NE son of Lola Viola Dennis & Hershell Wilber Layman. He served in the US Coast Guard. A retired farmer, he relocated to central Florida in 1979 from Lyons, NE and was a member of Polo Park Chapel & VFW Post 6931 in Polo Park. His first wife Mary Mildred LeBlanc Layman preceded him in death on October 26, 2001 as did his daughter Barbara A. Trenthan & sisters Cleda Wright and Cloda Shanks. Surviving are his wife Phyllis Jean Wagner Layman; children Daniel R. Layman, Fremont, NE; Roger D. Layman, Yutan, NE ; Lance J. Layman, St. Cloud & Paulette L. Uehling, Council Bluffs, IA; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren ; 2 great-great-grandchildren & siblings Kenneth Eugene Layman, Ft. Calhoun, NE; Carl Layman, Fremont, NE; Jeanne Bahner, Hot Springs, AK & Anita Miller, Haines City FL. The memorial service for Mr. Layman will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Clubhouse at Polo Park West with Pastor Scott Frisbie officiating.
