Obituary

Randolph Edwin "Ed" Addison, 76, passed away on October 21, 2015. Ed was born in Charlotte, NC on October 16, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Randolph Addison and Marie Myers Addison and his sister Gloria Addison. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years and 10 months, Karen L. Hart Addison, and his sister Maranda Arnold and husband, Curtis. He is also survived by his children, Dawn Stalnaker-Price and husband Eddie; Candy Flowers and husband, Scott; Jeffrey Addison and wife, Leslie; and Roger Boone. His grandchildren are Dustin Stalnaker and wife, Shannon; James Stalnaker and wife, Devin; Buster Polin and wife, Courtney; Maegan Addison; Matthew Addison; Morgan Flowers and Jordan Boone. His great grandchildren are Wesley Stalnaker, Pierson Stalnaker, Garrett Polin and Ava Cranmer. In addition he is survived by loving friends, Devin Stalnaker's sister, Kari Martin and her son, Hagen Ryan.

Ed graduated from Manning High School in Manning, SC in June of 1959, and joined the United States Air Force on November 9, 1959. After serving 4 years in Turkey and Germany, he returned to the United States and received his honorable discharge from the USAF in April 1963.

Ed's career as a Sales Professional in the wholesale Air Conditioning/Refrigeration field included positions with D. G. O'Brian, Baker Brothers, and Baker Distributing. Ed was also a long time member of American Legion Post 19 in Orlando, Florida, and an honorary member of American Legion Post 63 in Winter Garden, Florida, while in the Health Central Park Nursing Home.

Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years, Ed enjoyed playing softball, water skiing, golf, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed family vacations returning to his family home on Lake Marion in South Carolina, which always included family reunions and reconnecting with aunts, uncles and cousins. His wry sense of humor kept everyone around him laughing.

Although he spent the last few years in the nursing home, he still maintained his sense of humor and love for his family. He will be greatly missed.



Arrangements are:

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, November 6, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Groveland with Pastor Billy Stephens officiating. Inurnment with Air Force honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
