Randall William Paige, aged 58, formerly of Scarborough, Maine, passed away Oct 1, 2017 in Clermont, FL., where he lived with his wife, Diane. He was born in 1959 at Fort Benning, GA. He is predeceased by his father Elton Paige. He is survived by his wife Diane Corson Paige, their son Michael Jacob Paige of Holyoke, MA, his mother Marilyn Paige of Scarborough, ME and his sisters Julianne Raines of Bowdoin, ME and Victoria Kundishora of Scarborough, ME and their families. Randy was a high honors student of Scarborough High School and Summa Cum Laude graduate at The University of Southern Maine. He was a successful computer programmer/IT manager for Liberty Mutual, UNUM, Allstate, and a Vice President Client Services Executive at GE Employers Reinsurance Corporation. He developed multimillion dollar software for risk analysis.
He was a funny, kind and caring man who married his childhood sweetheart. He was extremely devoted to his family. Witty, intelligent and charming, Randy could tell stories in such a way that would enrapture his whole audience. He had a talent with the piano and sang a beautiful tenor. He even wrote and sang a special song for his beloved Diane. Randy had a love of life and enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activities from baseball to canoeing to mountain climbing. Randy was also an avid chess player and in his youth played 3-dimensional chess by mail. He was the top chess player during his high school years. His mother began the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association after his father was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's. This was to provide the support and compassion that was not available to her at that time in Maine. Now, Randy has himself succumbed to this heartbreaking disease. His dear brother-in-law, Ed Corson and Ed's wife Patsy went above and beyond for Randy in the last several years of his illness in overseeing his care in Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Maine, the chapter his mother had founded. Alzheimer's Association/Maine Chapter, 383 US Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074
