Rafael Cintron Santiago, 91, Clermont, passed away February 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1920 in Yauco, Puerto Rico son of Jose Cintron & Juana Cruz Santiago. He was a WWII Army veteran and retired school security guard. On April 22, 1946 he was united in marriage to Rosario Sanchez in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. A local resident since 2005 from Miami, he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. His four siblings preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife Rosario Sanchez Santiago; children Rene Santiago & wife Doris of Staten Island, NY & Raquel Munoz and husband Alex of Clermont; 5 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
Mass of the Resurrection for Rafael Santiago will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, celebrated by Very Reverend Robert E. Webster. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, February 3, 2012 & from 10:00 AM until noon on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the funeral home.
