Rafael Antonio Figueiras, 84, of Groveland, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Rafael was born in Banes, Cuba to Andres Figueiras and Alicia Silva. He was married and widow to Ana Figueiras. Rafael was a proud father and husband. Had a passion for music and dance . Rafael would had been most remembered for his ability to tell stories from dates so far back anyone else would have forgotten.

He was a friend to everyone he met and always excited about a party. If you wanted a good partner at the domino table, this was the man to have on your side or you were getting a pela (whooping). Rafael was a fan of salsa and knew every song and artist. Even with bad knees, he would force himself up to dance for 10 seconds of a song. He was a dedicated father and adored his grandchildren.

After migrating from Cuba along with Ana, they raised their children in Maryland. As a result became a huge Baltimore Orioles and Washington Redskins fan.

Rafael is survived by his children, Rafael Figueiras, Richard Figueiras, Roberto Figueiras, and Amy Figueiras Dominguez; grandchildren, Briana, Jody, Ryan, Riley, Alejandro, Drew, Elizabeth,Rodriego, Aziel, and Isaac; In-laws Angie, Jane , Ayana, and Efrain; nieces, Nereda Isala and Ester Isla; and Brother in law, Juan Luis Isla.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025, 7pm, at Becker Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends starting at 5pm.
