Philip A. De Bruno, age 84, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at home after complications from a stroke. His loving wife of 61 years and many of his immediate family members were by his side. He was born on December 2 nd , 1936, in Palmi, Calabria, Italy.
When he was just an infant, Phil moved to New Jersey with his family. Throughout his youth and into his adult years he lived in Bergen County, NJ which is where he met his wife and started their family. He spent 25 years traveling across the country as a truck driver. In 1998, he relocated to Clermont, FL and worked custodial at South Lake Hospital for 10 years. Much of his spare time was spent in his backyard tending to his grapevines that he used to make homemade wine. Making wine was his biggest hobby. Phil spent 50 years growing grapevines, reading books about wine, and thoroughly enjoyed his craft and made sure to share it with all he met. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, watching old cowboy movies, and doting on his wife.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughters Debra (Nino) Gargano and Donna (Bert) Harrop, sons Philip (Lisa) De Bruno and Richard (Michele) De Bruno. Eleven grandchildren Danielle (Taylor) Burke, Joseph (Jacquelynn) Gargano, Michelle (Benjamin) Muzia, Daniel De Bruno, Thomas De Bruno, Jonathan Harrop, Benjamin Harrop, Jillian Harrop, Richard De Bruno, Anthony De Bruno, Christian De Bruno. Eight great-grandchildren Alexis, Hailey, and Preston Burke; Anthony and Massimus Gargano; Peyton, Gage, and Delaney Muzia. Younger brother Richard De Bruno, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, his wife has suggested donations be made in his memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of America in honor of their great-granddaughters battle with epilepsy.
