P eter Lawford Sankey passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, August 28th, 2021 at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, Florida.

Peter Lawford Sankey was born on March 19, 1947 in the District of Mc Cooks Pen, St Catherine, Jamaica to parents Laurel Frederica Sankey and Allan Peter Sankey who predeceased him.  Peter is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lorraine Sankey, his only living sister Mildred Sankey, his loving children Frederica Sankey-Alexander, Patrick Sankey and daughter-in law Sharon, Sandra Sankey-Pryor and son-in-law Michael, Allan Sankey and daughter-in-law Maria, Gregory Sankey and daughter-in-law Sasha, and Matthew Sankey, grandkids and great grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Pete, as he is affectionately called, obtained his education in Jamaica. He attended Mc Cooks All Age School, and went on to graduate from Vere Technical High School in Clarendon. Peter was a Mechanical Engineer; he worked at Stanville, Graham Jack, and the sugar estate. He was a great mechanic. He worked in The Bahamas for a couple of years then went back to Jamaica.

In August of 1980, he migrated to the United States. He did some college courses, also graduated from the Police Academy but did not work as a police officer.  He did various jobs including working at Sears as a sales representative in the automotive department for several years.  The job he most enjoyed though was working with his sons doing ceramic tiling and construction work until he became ill.  Peter enjoyed fishing, cooking, reading and watching his game shows.  He loved to talk and entertain by telling stories, he was very sociable and kind.

This is not the way he wanted everyone to come together by meeting because of death. However, in the last few months of his life he wanted all his family to come together and enjoy time with each other.
