Peter Rivkees
January 4, 1960 – June 4, 2026
On a warm and sunny day, peacefully and surrounded with love, Peter C. Rivkees, of Clermont, Florida, passed away at age 66 after bravely fighting multiple myeloma.
Peter was born in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of four sons, to Norman and Beverly Rivkees. He grew up in New Jersey, playing football at New Providence High School. He went on to earn both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Hartford, laying the foundation for a life defined by genuine service.
His career took two meaningful paths. In executive recruitment, he brought people and opportunity together. Then, as a licensed mental health therapist, he gave people something far harder to find — someone who truly listened. He leaves a lasting mark through the lives he helped steady and the burdens he helped lift.
Peter was known for his spirit and uncommon positivity. He was sharp, funny, and quick to make a room laugh. He fought cancer with grace and courage, and by living each and every day.
Over 20 years, Peter and his wife, Alicia Camacho, built a life with love. Those years were full of laughter, adventure, and a deep and easy happiness. When illness arrived, they held fast to that love.
Peter is survived by his beloved children, Glenn (Carolyn) and Julie Rivkees, and by Liam, Alexandria, Colin, and Isabella Camacho. He is also survived by his brothers Scott, Todd, and John, and by the many people whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
Services will be held Sunday, June 14, 1026, 10am, at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, Florida. Gathering to follow.
May his memory be a blessing. May the way he lived — with joy, humor, and courage — be an inspiration. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Moffitt Cancer Center in his memory.
