Obituary

Pedro Pascual Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on November 27, 2023, at The Mike Conley Cornerstone Hospice in Clermont, Florida. He was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on April 19, 1929. Pedro was a devoted caregiver for his family and touched the lives of many with his unwavering faith, love for God, and his compassionate and humble spirit.

Pedro was a man of deep faith and found solace and guidance in his belief in God. He was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a devout member of the Cursillistas and Santo Nombre in Bridgeport, CT. After relocating to Florida in 2005, Pedro attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont and its mission church Santo Toribio Romo in Mascotte, Florida. He prayed the rosary daily and was known to lead groups in prayer when gathered for religious intentions. As a servant for Christ, he often inspired those around him and was a pillar of strength for his family and others, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of wisdom.

Upon moving to Bridgeport, CT in 1951 from Puerto Rico, Pedro worked at various jobs including Engineer Tools, Bridgeport Brass, and finally, a longtime employee and retiree from Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT. Throughout his long life, Pedro exemplified a strong work ethic, instilling in his loved ones the importance of perseverance and dedication. He faced challenges with a strong determination, providing for his family and making a positive impact on those around him.

Pedro's passion for playing dominoes was infectious, bringing together friends and family for countless hours of laughter and camaraderie. His competitive spirit and strategic mind made him a formidable opponent, but more importantly, a beloved companion at the domino table. Similarly, he enjoyed a challenging game of Parcheesi and Chinese checkers or a quiet time with a word search book in hand. He loved listening to Spanish music, especially ballads and classical trios from Puerto Rico.

He is predeceased by the love of his life, Martina. They were married for 60 years and raised eight beautiful children together with love and devotion. Pedro is survived by his children Pedro Luis, Roberto (Iris), Victor Fernando (Connie), and Carlos (Sylvia). He was a cherished grandfather to Monique, Marysol, Miguel, Jazmine, Roberto Clemente, Sergio Antonio, Natalia Selena, Romulo, and Javier. He leaves behind two brothers, Antonio Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez. In the last years of his life, Isabel Flores was a loving companion to Pedro.

Pedro was predeceased by his beloved parents, Policarpio Rodriguez and Severiana Valdez; his children, Jose, Maria, Alturo, Marta Iris; and his brothers, Jose Cheo Rodriguez, Alejo Rodriguez, Rafael Tencho Rodriguez, Policarpio Rodriguez, Felix Pipe Rodriguez, and a sister, Goya Rodriguez.

Today and always, we honor Pedro's memory not only for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic but also for his kindness, compassion, and wisdom he shared with all who knew him. May his legacy continue to inspire us to live our lives to the fullest, embracing

each day with faith, love, passion for the simple joys that life has to offer, and love for God who provides for us all.
