Obituary
CLERMONT –Paul C. Petrany, 73, peacefully passed away at home on June 9, 2018 following a 10-year battle with cancer.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Elaine Petrany of Clermont, FL; his three sons, Joe Petrany of Denver, CO, Scott Pavlak (and daughter-in-law Terri Pavlak) of Watchung, NJ, and Gregg Pavlak (and partner Douglas Moody) of Atlanta, GA; his three brothers, Ronald Petrany of Bridgewater, NJ, Joe Petrany of Kennett Square, PA, and Robert Petrany of East Northport, NY; four grandchildren, Brooke and Caitlyn Petrany of Lincroft, NJ, and Sarah and Mitchell Pavlak of Watchung, NJ; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Joseph and Margaret Petrany of Brooklyn, NY.
"Paulie" was a lover of people, travel, golf, food, and laughter. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 7, 1945, and often told fond stories of his Italian up-bringing. He attended NYU and Pace University in New York City. He met his wife, Elaine, in 1982 and they were married in New Jersey on June 7, 1986. Paul owned a product marketing company, Omni Spec, until 1993, when he and Elaine moved to Lake Worth, FL. He was Purchasing Manager for Ocwen Financial Corporation in West Palm Beach, FL until retirement in 2004, when he and Elaine moved to Kings Ridge in Clermont, FL. In retirement, Paul was an avid golfer and annual fundraiser with the Kings Ridge Men's Golf Association for Cornerstone Hospice. He was also a Trustee for the Elks Lodge in Summit, NJ and a member for 32 years. Never one to miss a good party, he will be remembered fondly for his infectious laugh, "Brooklyn-ese" colloquialisms, and deep love of his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life with lunch will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Sanctuary Ridge Clubhouse, 2601 Diamond Club Drive, Clermont, FL 34711.
