IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patrick
Allan
February 2, 1937 – January 5, 2017
Patrick Allan was born in Jamaica to parents-Charles & Alida Allan. At age 21, he migrated to England and enlisted in the Royal Air Force, where he served for 5 years.
He met and married his wife, Louise, in London, England, their marriage lasted over 56 years. They have three adult children and 8 grandchildren.
In 1970, Patrick and his immediate family came to the U.S.; he settled in Michigan and worked at Henry Ford Health System - Data Systems Dept. for approximately 30 years. He retired from HFHS in December 2000, following an illness.
Due to failing health, Patrick and his wife moved to Central Florida to continue their retirement and have lived in Clermont for 10 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, also loved going to flea markets and estate sales. Buying antiques and working on antique clocks as a hobby he enjoyed. Patrick had a great sense of humor, but very poor tolerance for nonsense. He was hardworking, generous and supportive; loved his family, was sympathetic to the old and disadvantaged - especially in Jamaica.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise and his three children: Thelma & Darryl Jordan, Robert & Michelle Allan and Gary Allan; his four sisters: Frances & Sidney Pottinger, Cecile & Joe Rivers,Marie & Nat Hryniuk and Joan & Bill Russel; his cousins: Betty & Henry Robbins and Hazel & Robert Scotland and other extended relatives. He will be sadly missed.
