October 15, 1936 – June 18, 2021
Patricia was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega National Dramatics Fraternity. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University in 1957 with a B.S. degree in Business Education. She taught Business Education to high school students prior to her marriage to Lt. Col. Richard E. Smith, 2/22/1964. Mr. & Mrs. Smith relocated to Winter Garden, Florida in 1970. Patricia became Chairman Volunteer, & later President of the West Orange Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In 1974 she began a new career as a Secretary, & later became the Office Manager of the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, where she proved valuable in the development, & growth of the Communities of Oakland, Ocoee, Winter Garden, & Windermere. She received several Proclamations from the Mayor's of those cities upon her retirement in 1994. In the 1990's Patricia was a founding member, & served as Secretary of The Friend's of Lake Apopka, an organization dedicated to combating pollution, & restoring the lake to its once pristine condition.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Garrett McKinley Castle, & her late husband Lt. Col. Richard E. Smith. Having lost all family members, she is survived by her chosen family, Lauralee McCarthy, Sandy Phipps, Savi Sital, & Bibi Sammy.
