Obituary

Patricia Ann Judy, age 76, Groveland, passed away December 26, 2017 at the Mike Conley Hospice House surrounded by family. She was born July 6, 1941 in Palm Harbor, Florida daughter of Mittie Ione Portervint & Jodie Paul Rogers. She and her family moved to Montverde when she was in the 5th grade. She attended Clermont High School graduating with the class of 1959. The next year, on February 14, 1960 she married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Homer Judy in Clermont.

Patricia, whose family and friends knew as Pat, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and foster mother. Pat and Dan spent approximately two decades fostering children. Even though foster care was supposed to be temporary, she stayed in close contact with several as they found their forever homes. Her love for children continued through years of substitute teaching. She was always there to lend a hand to any family member or friend in need. She loved to shop, not just for herself, but also for others and was always looking for a good deal. She stayed in close contact with her friends from the class of 1959 helping to organize many of their class reunions and, specifically, having her monthly luncheons with "the girls". She enjoyed several hobbies throughout her life such as photography, collecting dolls & beanie babies, and spent many hours researching her family heritage. She loved the Lord and enjoyed listening to bluegrass gospel music. She attended The Church at South Lake.

Surviving her are her husband Daniel; children Dale H. Judy, wife Janet, Clermont; Jodie Judy Spears, husband Mark, & Daniel Alex Judy, all of Groveland; grandchildren Daniel Mark Spears, Taylor Karen Strickland, husband Cory, & Mary Dale Judy; siblings Julia Faye Rogers, husband Pete, Winter Garden; Thomas Rogers, Groveland; Mary Jean Sisson, DeLand; Jerry Lee Rogers, wife Debbie, Umatilla & Matthew Rogers, Groveland. She was preceded in death by her siblings Sharon Russell & Jim Rogers.

The funeral service for Mrs. Judy will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at The Church at South Lake (Hancock Road & Hooks Street) Clermont. Her brother Jerry Rogers and Pastor Brian Hammond will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Her favorite color was blue and the family welcomes you to wear blue in her honor.
