Obituary

Olga Peña Boissen

Olga was born on June 9, 1957, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and passed away peacefully at home in Clermont, Florida, on June 26, 2023. Olga, better known as "Olguita" by immediate relatives and close friends, was the devoted daughter of Víctor Peña and Gladys Boissen who preceded her in death.

Olga graduated Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico in 1979 and became a private banking counselor with Northern Trust Bank of Miami, Florida. After 20 years of service in the banking industry, in 2004 she moved back to Puerto Rico and worked for the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law, where she assisted the Dean with the admission and registration process. Being the only fluent English-speaker on the staff, she quickly became the school's liaison with the American Bar Association and was instrumental in the school accreditation process. After 14 years of service, and after Hurricane Maria devastated the island, she retired and relocated to Clermont, Florida, in 2018 to be close to her family.

Olga was a member of the Church of Christ for over 30 years. Since 2018, she worshiped at the South 14th Street congregation in Leesburg. She is survived by her loving sister Gladys Calderon (José) and niece Marianna Calderon.
