Nilda Luz Mendoza passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice, Orlando Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family, on Thursday November 5th, 2020 at the age of 69.

Nilda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ana and Andy Knote, and her beloved grandson Thomas F Callahan, III, her sister Julia Mendoza and brother Jose Mendoza and dozens of nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her mother Ana Pomales and father Dionisio Mendoza, sisters Barbara Cordero, Irmina Mendoza, brothers Ramon Ruiz Mendoza, Jose and Juan Mendoza.

Nilda was born March 11 ^th , 1951, in Humacao, Puerto Rico.  She moved to New Jersey after she married.  In her early twenties, Nilda relocated to New York and taught and performed as a dancer for Bill Crespo. Nilda left dancing and worked as a bookkeeper for Dubowski & Sons in Glendale, New York.  Throughout her life, she enjoyed experiencing new places, having lived in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Colorado and Florida.  She loved crafting and jewelry making.  She provided food, shelter, clothing, guidance, love and support to all that crossed her path.

A farewell remembrance was held for Nilda on Saturday, November 7th in Clermont.
