IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nettie Merle
Heard
December 25, 1926 – December 15, 2020
Nettie Merle Heard--Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend passed away from this earth on December 15, 2020. She is now in heaven with her beloved husband, Curtis and children, Joan and Donald and other family and friends that greeted her upon arrival.
Nettie "Merle" Heard was her given name; however, she was called Mimi by almost everyone who knew her. She was born December 25, 1926 to Carl Moore Harris and Nola Marie Taylor. She and her two brothers were raised in Georgia where she lived until she met and married her husband, Curtis Heard. They eventually moved down to Central Florida and began their own family. They were blessed with three daughters and one son.
Mimi was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, her son Donald, and her oldest daughter, Joan Marie Fietsma. She is survived by her two daughters; Patricia Hart and her husband, George and Brenda Prince. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Angela, Andy, Charlie, Chip, Jennifer, Katie, Jessica, and fourteen great grandchildren; Brock, Corben, Riley, Maddie, Austin, Molly, Reegan, Gracey, Waylon, Caitlyn, Preston, Bailey, Zoie, Sophia and two great-great grandchildren; Ryker and Ryan.
Mimi led a full life with her family always being her first priority and would have been 94 on Christmas Day. Her green thumb was envied by all and she spent many hours outdoors tending to her great variety of plants. She was even able to grow a large, fruitful peach tree from a seed in her backyard. Mimi also spent a lot of time in her kitchen and was known for her delicious southern meals which she made for her family, friends and Sunday school class. She enjoyed bringing her loved ones together to share a meal around the dinner table.
Mimi will be greatly missed by her family. A family that knew how much she loved each one of them and a family that made sure she knew how much they all loved her.
