Naomi Bernadine Swan Tipton was born in Chicago, IL on June 28, 1943. She was the second child of her parents, Harland Benjamin (Ed) Swan and Loretta Marjorie Keiran Swan Rachford. She initially met her husband-to-be when she was 9 years old and always said that she would eventually marry George Wayne Tipton and she did. They had 3 daughters when they moved from Markham, IL to Orlando, FL in 1970. After moving to Orlando they had 3 more daughters. She lived in Orlando and then Clermont (1996-2024), FL besides living in Dallas (1977-1981) for 4 years.
Naomi was privileged enough to be able to spend most of her years as a stay at home mom and wife. While living in Dallas Naomi worked at Texas Instruments, she also worked as a bookkeeper for Friendly Concrete, and as a sales associate at Movado, Service Merchandise.
She is survived by her husband, George Wayne Tipton; sister, Harlean Swan Keefer; children, Loretta (Marty) Coley, Coretta (Eric) Auman, Lynetta (Cliff) Steed, Andrea (Michael) Smith, Angela Tipton, and Georgia (Chris) Parker; grandchildren, Naomi Coley, Clint (Alicia) Coley, Matthew Auman, Mitchell Auman, Haley Auman, George (Felicia) Steed, Lyndsey (Tanner) Hullinger, Katie Steed, Austin Smith, Xander Smith, Jack (Sydney) Curtis, Caylan (Jordan) Molina, Courtney Parker, Cody Hayford, Kyler Hayford, and Colten Parker; great-grandchildren, Cameron Jackson, Amia Jackson, Sienna Prendergast, James Coley, Grace Coley, Easton Parker, and Emberlynn Parker, and three on the way.
Her interests included being a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic church, playing poker at the American Legion, Elks, and bowling on leagues for over 30 years. She loved the years that she got to spend riding on the back of George's motorcycle. Her plants and flowers benefited from her green thumb. Her husband was always her top priority, along with her faith and family. She was the glue and the matriarch of their large family. She loved playing games, being there for everyone's birthday parties, holidays and vacations. She always made sure that she was at all of the momentous occasions for her children and grandchildren. She was one of a kind, unique and as beautiful as they come. She had an incredible joking relationship with her husband, children, grandchildren and son-in-laws and friends. She was always up for a good time.
Naomi passed away at her home surrounded by her vigilant and loving husband and all of her daughters. She will be remembered for her special ability to make everyone she loved feel like they were the most importantly person in the world. Her guidance, support, and unconditional love, will be missed. We love you and may you rest in peace, in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
