Obituary

Nancy C. McAdams, age 86 transitioned to heaven on July 3, 2021 in Tavares, Florida.  She was born in Newton, Massachusetts  on April 27, 1935 to Charles and Lillian Cupp.  Soon after her birth the family moved to a suburb of Detroit where she spent most of her youth.  She enjoyed a number of hobbies including swimming (where she excelled) and horseback riding.  She swam for the University of Michigan during her undergraduate college years.  After her father retired and the family moved to Florida in the 1950's she studied both Nursing and Education at Florida Southern College and then earned a Master's Degree in Education at Stetson University.  She taught elementary school in Pinellas County for 35 years and was regarded as an outstanding educator earning several prominent awards in her career.  She was a long-term member of Northside Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, and very involved in a number of Christian organizations.  On several occasions she made missionary trips outside the United States.  She was very dedicated to her Christian faith.  In retirement she did volunteer work, was politically active, hosted Bible studies, traveled extensively, and was always quick to help others.

She is survived by her two sons, Randall S. McAdams, and David K. McAdams along with his wife Rebecca, two grandchildren,  Brittiany Langley, her husband David, and Brooklyn Waddell, and a great grandson, Atlas Langley.  She is also survived by a great number of family and friends in West Virginia where she lived from 2014-2021.  She was a beloved mother and friend who will be greatly missed.

The family is having a private ceremony and is not requesting flowers or donations of any kind.

"Let not your hearts be troubled.  Believe in God; believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many rooms.  If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also."   John 14: 1-3
