Nancy Mae Cantwell, born on April 15, 1939, passed away peacefully at Clermont Health Memory Care on Oct. 17, 2022.

Nancy was born in Brooklyn, NY to Mae Wing (Clark) and Felix Wing. She had an older brother, Bob. She graduated from Catherine Mc Auley High School in Brooklyn and attended Braxton Business School for 2 years. She went on to work for the stockbroker firm of Harriman Ripley. She met George Cantwell in 1959, and they were married on May 27, 1961. After the family moved to Virginia in 1967, Nancy became a homemaker.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, George, and their 3 children , son Michael and his wife, Becky Zwadyk , daughter Colleen Powers and her husband , Tim, son Brian and his wife, Cathy,  7 grandchildren, Maeve, Eoin, Patrick (wife Michelle), Sydney, Daniel, Grace, Colin, 2 great grandchildren Athena Nancy and April Florence.

Nancy was also an accomplished artist. She loved painting; her greatest skill was as a china painter, and she occasionally sold her work at local art shows. Nancy was an avid gardener, a trait she said she inherited from her father. She was a woman of strong faith; she served as a past president of the Council of Catholic Women and actively volunteered in her communities. She and George loved to travel together and shared many great adventures. Above all Nancy will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who brought love, laughter and kindness to her family and all lives she touched.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, January 16th, 11am, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
