Milan Edward Barabas
Milan Edward Barabas, age 79, of Clermont, Florida passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 at The Lakes of Clermont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Milan was born on February 15, 1946 in New York City, New York. He received a high school diploma from the High School of Art and Design in 1963. Milan proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Norfolk in 1967-1968. After his stint in the Navy, he became a draftsman and helped with designing the Verranzano-Narrrows Bridge in Staten Island, New York, the John F Kennedy gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC, as well as many buildings in New York and South Florida. He was a faithful servant of God attending services at Lutheran churches throughout his life. Milan loved the golden oldies from the 1950's and 1960's, with Elvis being at the top of the list, and he could name just about any song/artist from that era. He also loved vintage cars, drawing, and good food.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine and his children Elizabeth Reller (Dennis) and Karri Miller (Greg) as well as his four grandchildren: Kenneth, Christian, and Grace Reller and Harper Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and John Barabas and brother John (Elizabeth).
Milan will be remembered for his kindness and loyalty. He loved his family dearly and also had a special place in his heart for all of the family dachshunds.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research to help a cause that affected Milan's life.
Family and friends are invited to Woodlands Lutheran Church (15333 County Road 455, Montverde, FL 34756) on June 14, 2025 at 11am to celebrate Milan's life with a luncheon to follow. Burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery on June 16, 2025, 10:30 AM.
