Michael (Mike) P. Ryan, age 70, slipped away on National Fishing Day, June 18, 2024, to scout new fishing spots in heaven, where there are no limits and the seasons never close. He is survived by his loving wife Debra, sons Kristopher, Patrick (Jacqueline), and his precious granddaughter "Princess" Eleanor. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Sue), sister Kathy (Jim), brother Daniel, sister Barbara, and a flock of nieces and nephews.
Mike was born in San Diego, California and grew up in Brook Park, Ohio. He moved to Florida early in his life replacing snow with sunshine and bigger fish, where he met his wife Debbie of 46 years. Mike carved a long and successful career in plumbing, welding, and pipefitting, and he managed several commercial construction projects. He enjoyed playing racquetball and softball, as well as hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. When his sons grew old enough, Mike spent many years coaching baseball. After numerous championship teams through the years, his sons got older and they spent time together in the outdoors. This passion led to pursuing snook, trout, and redfish, as well as outsmarting deer and alligators. Mike and his friends always enjoyed spending time together, whether the result was a successful harvest or an animated story around a campfire about the one that got away. Mike retired and focused his later years on slowing down by spending time with Debbie, hunting, fishing, and relaxing in the woods. You could always count on Mike for advice about life, what bait to use, or a really good laugh when you needed one. Most importantly, Mike would always be there if you needed him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to replant the nation's forests, such as through

, or spend a day in the outdoors like Mike is probably doing right now.
