Michael Guilford Whiddon, affectionately known as Gil, age 33, Clermont, FL passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2014 at home. He was born June 26, 1980 in Tallahassee, son of Sharon Brock & Michael Edward Whiddon & was a member of First Baptist Church of Tallahassee. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998, and Florida State University in 2002 with a bachelors degree in environmental studies. Upon graduation, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked for AEI Consultants performing inspections for environmental compliance. He moved back to Tallahassee, Florida in 2013 where he worked at Whiddon Glass. In March of 2014 he moved to Clermont, Florida. Gil enjoyed being outdoors, often participating in camping, hiking, and water sports. He liked working on home improvement projects, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Surviving are his parents Sharon & Michael Whiddon of Clermont; paternal grandmother Josephine Whiddon, Tallahassee; sister Michele Whiddon Empric and husband Brian and their children Madeleine & Davis of Windermere, FL; aunts, uncles & cousins.



The funeral service for Gil Whiddon will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in the Becker Chapel. Reverend John Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
