Merle Matherne "Kitty" Davis, a native of Houma, Louisiana and resident of Davenport, Florida passed away January 28, 2019. She was born December 7, 1923 in Houma, daughter of Eunice & John A Smith. She was preceded in death by her brothers Harvey and Jason Smith & sister Yvonne Smith Founier; husbands Roy Peter Matherne & Bernard Davis & daughter Peggy Huval, wife of John Huval. Survivors include her sons Peter Roy Matherne & wife Mary McElroy Matherne of Houma & Michael Phillip Matherne & wife Elba Valdes Matherne, Davenport; grandchildren Amanda Whitiker & husband Guy, Melissa Ross & husband John, Jennifer Wels, Kent Matherne & wife Jamie, Megan Helwick & husband Rudy, Jonathen Marcel & wife Katie; great grandchildren; Kyle Antil & wife Leslie, Shelby Brown & husband Cody, Rebecca Matherne & wife Macey, Makayla Matherne, Katie Zufelt, Cody Zufelt, Rudy Helwick & Dylan Marcel; great-great-grandchildren, Kash, Laityn & Kodi Antill, & Wacy & Corbin Brown.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Clermont, FL. Inurnment will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 15, 2019 in St. Francis Cemetery Mausoleum #2 in Houma.
