Melva Minck Santee, 77, of Clermont, Florida passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013. She was born February 9, 1935 in Santa Ana, California to the late Reverend Dr. Franklin H. and Annie Minck.
She was a 1953 graduate of Buchtel High School Akron, Ohio and a 1957 graduate of Ohio University where she earned her BA in Elementary Education. She was active in the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and Ohio U was where she met and married her husband Donald W. Santee. She went on to teach kindergarten in the Wadsworth Public Schools. Melva was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She was described by friends and family as energetic, thoughtful, kind, chatty, and a fun loving, witty red head. Her greatest joy was raising her three children and was most proud of her grandchildren and grand dogs. Melva enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling,
entertaining and spending time with family and friends. She loved watching and attending sporting events of all types. She took great pride in growing huge beautiful red geraniums and tulips of all colors. Melva was preceded in death by her parents, younger sister, Dorothy Jarrett and stepmother Alma Minck. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald W. Santee, children; Jill (Kurt) Bock of Gotha, FL, Jeffrey (Amy) Santee of Monroe, CT, Julie (Kevin) Trapp, of Yardley, PA; grandchildren; Erin and Ryan Trapp, Paige and Will
Santee, sisters; Mary Virginia Minck of Boise, ID, Martha (Richard) Everhard of Wadsworth, Ohio.
