Mary Jane Boatman, 63, of Clermont, Fla., passed away with loved ones at her side on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Univ. of Pittsburgh Medical Center after an acute illness.
She was born in 1953 in Bergen, N.Y., to her late parents, Robert and Lorna Pocock.
Mary graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in business administration and worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 10 years.
She married William (Bill) Boatman in 1982 and in 1985 they moved to Florida. She then furthered her career working for commercial banks in Orlando. Since her retirement, for the past five years she has spent her summers living in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
Mary was a devout Christian and she used her music and business talents to serve the Lord Jesus by being church pianist, choir director and treasurer for 30 years.
Her greatest pleasures were riding with her husband on his motorcycle, showing their classic cars at Old Town, Fla., and playing Scrabble (she usually won!).
She is survived by her husband of 35 years; a step-daughter Kim (Dale) Fair; two sisters and five brothers: Wayne (Nancy) Pocock, Warren (Anne) Pocock, Marie (David) Aradine, Grace (Gene) Krenzer, Leon (Bonnie) Pocock, Carl (Candie) Pocock, Merlyn (Marilyn) Pocock; brother-in-law James (Bonnie) Boatman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
