Mary Beale Lang was born in Evanston IL, on March 18th, 1929 to the late Dr. Samuel J. and Ruth (Hodgson) Lang. She met her future husband, Claude A. Chinn while attending Stephens College in Columbia, MO. They were married in July of 1950 and proceeded to have three fabulous children. ;-)
They lived in various locations for the first 12 years of their marriage: St. Louis, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago before settling permanently in Overland Park, KS, where they stayed for 35 years prior to moving to Clermont, FL, in 1997.
Mary's hobbies and interests included playing bridge, as often as possible, reading, walking and she loved to dance. She enjoyed music, television sitcoms and dining out, but not cooking. She was an active member at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church in Kansas and then First United Methodist Church in Clermont. Mary also participated, throughout the years, in many of the Kings Ridge activities, clubs and with the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years and brother, Samuel J. Lang, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Jean Lonergan, daughter Susan Guerrero, sons Paul (Lisa) and Richard (Holly) Chinn, six beloved grandchildren Thomas, Rylee, Brandon, Jonathan, Madison and Nicole and great-grandchildren Cassian, Peter, Elizabeth and Leo.
She was always positive, saw the best in people and was a kind-hearted soul to all she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
