Mary Elizabeth (McDonald) Dunn, age 73, of Clermont, Florida passed away on September 1, 2019 in Clermont, Florida. She was born on January 26, 1946 in Mascotte, Florida to Malcom Wheeler McDonald and Inez (Powers) McDonald. Mary attended Groveland High School where she was a member of the ladies basketball team, a majorette, and also played the saxophone in the band. She loved to read and was often found immersed in the most current paperback novel. Mary was also fluent in American Sign Language and she coached the South Lake Raiders Pop Warner cheer-leading squad. Mary worked as a corrections officer in Clermont and Zephyrhills, Florida and would later train in the skill of glass installation.
Mary is survived by her daughter Angela Marie (Boswell) Suttle, sons; Robert Hamilton Boswell, Jr. and Richard Matthew Boswell, eight grandchildren; Alex Wasson, Darien Hoffmann, Lt. Benjamin Boswell, Sarah Watson, Brett Boswell, Rebecca Boswell, Nathan Boswell and Geoffrey Boswell, two great-grandchildren; Kayen Hoffmann and Finn Hoffmann, sisters; Betty F. (McDonald) McGregor, Laura M. (McDonald) Judy, brothers; Malcom W. McDonald and Joseph S. McDonald, and 12 nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Orville Dunn and sister Patricia A. (McDonald) Bowen.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tuscanooga Baptist Church (18540 Tuscanooga Rd, Groveland, FL 34736) on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
