In Loving Memory
Mary Jo Davis
At the age of 91, a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and true Jersey girl passed away after a long and happy life filled with family, friendship, and the things she loved most.
Born and raised in New Jersey, she was a Jersey girl through and through. New Jersey was always home, and she especially treasured time spent down the shore. Cape May and Wildwood held a special place in her heart, bringing with them the sights, sounds, and memories of a place she dearly loved.
She was also a devoted fan of classic movies and could happily lose herself in the films of another era. Among her favorites were Mildred Pierce, The Bishop’s Wife, and Imitation of Life—timeless movies that she enjoyed throughout her life. She also enjoyed reading, Oil and Watercolor painting, and Trompe-l'œil. Additionally she was a big dog person, and loved her dogs Buttons, Ginger and Lady.
Professionally, she spent many years as an Account Executive for The Wall Street Journal, a career that was an important part of her life and one of her many accomplishments.
Above all, she loved people. She enjoyed a very happy life surrounded by many cherished friends and family members, and the relationships she built over her 91 years brought her tremendous joy. Those fortunate enough to have known her will remember the life she lived, the friendships she treasured, and the love she shared with her family.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Dawn Antonis of Clermont, Florida; her caring son-in-law, Lucien Antonis of Clermont Florida; her beloved granddaughters, Katelynrose Antonis of New York, NY and Julia Antonis of Winter Park, Florida; her nephew Salvatore Scutari of Las Vegas, Nevada; her nephew Nicholas Scutari of Clark, New Jersey; and her uncle, Ronald Holden of Gillette, New Jersey.
Although 91 years provided a lifetime of memories, for those who loved her, it could never be long enough. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered—as a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and always, a Jersey girl at heart.
