Mary Anne Claire Coury Vrabel, 72, of Clermont, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at AdventHealth Celebration Hospital after a short illness. Mary Anne was born and raised in West Scranton, PA. After her marriage, she resided in Clarks Summit, Pa. before moving to Clermont, Florida 10 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Mansour Coury & Loretta Hibye Coury.

She graduated from West Scranton High School in 1970. Mary Anne retired in 2002 after 35 years with Verizon as a Team Leader where she made many lifelong friends.

Mary Anne married the love of her life, Fred Vrabel of Duryea, Pa. in 1974. They were to celebrate 51 years of marriage on May 18th. She had two daughters, April DePietro Pharm D. of Emmaus PA and Michelle White MSW of Clermont FL. She is also survived by son-in-law, Eric White of Clermont and her four grandchildren, Isabella Anne White, Ava Marie DePietro, Lukas Stephen White and Philip DePietro IV. She is also survived by sister Marcia Heckel (husband Richard), Endwell, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. She predeceased by 2 brothers, Joseph (infant) and Gerard Coury of Peckville, Pa.

Mary Anne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who treasured each moment with her family. She took in her son-in-law, Eric, as her own 23 years ago. She loved baking, trying new recipes, and feeding anybody who came to visit her. She was proud of her Lebanese heritage which showed in her cooking. She loved to go on cruises with her husband and her longtime friends after her retirement. She was a devout Roman Catholic who often sought solace in prayer. She was the matriarch of our family. It brings us comfort knowing she is at peace.
