Mary R. Brown, 85, of Clermont, FL passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017. Mary was born on October 13, 1932 in Manhattan, NY to Claudius L. and Melvina A. Gumbs. Mary was a former resident of St. Thomas, USVI and for many years worked for Immigration and Naturalization services. She was a longtime resident of Central Florida, working for many years as a clerk for the City of Orlando Fire Department. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Orlando, FL.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Linda M. Brown of St. Louis, MO; Edward L. Brown (Ondria) of Australia; Robert L. Brown (Sheri) of Grand Rapids, MI; James V. Brown (Vernice) of Minneola, FL; Regina L. Brown of Orlando, FL; Steven J. Brown (Valerie) of Orlando, FL; Arthur M. Brown of Woodstock, GA; Annette T. Thomas (Anthony) of Kissimmee, FL; and Mark C. Brown (Georgiana) of Orlando, FL; sister, Elsie Brown of New York; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by former spouse Edward J. Brown, their children, June C. Brown and Peter W. Brown, and grandson Nicolai Brooks.
